Mara's first day of school

Mara had her first day of school on the 6th. She was so excited. Tim is off early on thursdays so he was able to come with us. The kindergarden classes met in the gym and she went right over to sit with her class and had no fears at all about it. It made me feel really old, and she was just so cute with her backpack.

Big day!

Today was Mara's first day of kindergarden. She was so cute!! We dropped her off and then went home and I took a shower to get ready for my appointment this afternoon, and my water broke! So I am at the hospital right now just hanging out til our little guy arrives. I'll get pics of Mara's first day and the baby soon!

And today isn't any better...

Woke up at 2 am to go to the bathroom and couldn't go back to sleep. Got the kids breakfast and stayed upstairs, so of course they came downstairs. I didn't think there was anything they could get into but somehow Asher found a bottle of purple nail polish and dumped the entire bottle, which was full, all over my floor. That's not coming out. So today is starting off with a bang, too. Mara starts school tomorrow. My stomach hurts really bad on one side, like it is stretching. It feels like it is about to split open. And I am still pregnant. With no end in sight. It's not even 11 yet.

What a crappy day

Ugggggghhhh. So this morning while I was downstairs the little monkeys got into some rice krispies. This was purely for fun, since I had already given them both breakfast and neither one of them had eaten that. They took the whole box, about 3/4of the way full, and dumped it all over the living room and on the couch. I took them to the park for lunch and when we came home I gave them a popsicle and started to clean the kitchen. I did the dishes, wiped the counters, wiped down the walls and cabinets/surfaces in the kitchen and dining room, cleaned off the table and wiped the whole thing (and the benches) down, cleaned off the fridge and stove, and swept and mopped. I also vacuumed all the cereal in the living room and out of the couch and cleaned the living room. By the time I was done with everything I had been cleaning for a little over three hours. It was time to rest so I told Mara I was going to go relax for a bit and that her and Asher should play in her room for a bit.

I go upstairs to check on them 20 or 30 minutes later and Asher had somehow gotten the bag of Doritos (which are in a locked cabinet that was still locked, so go figure) and they had eaten some and dumped a bunch in my NEWLY VACUUMED living room. So I sent them back into Mara's room to vacuum again. Finished and then told Mara I was going to go rest again because I needed to lie down.

Another 20 minutes or so later, Asher comes to me and is whining because he is all wet, and he hates being wet. I go upstairs to find out why his clothes are all wet and when I get to the top of the stairs, the kitchen is flooded. Mara says Asher was squirting the hose. I had some dishes soaking and they turned on the water and it overflowed all over the floor and I guess they were playing in it. That was about where I lost it. They went back into Mara's room, and luckily Tim came home about 5 minutes later. At least the floor was swept and mopped, so cleaning it up wasn't too bad.

Oh, and to top it all off, I am still pregnant.

It's going to be a hectic week

I think. Mara had her kindergarden assessment on friday and she starts school on the 6th, thursday. So I had better have the baby and be out of the hospital by then, because I will be upset if I miss her first day of kindergarden. So pretty much I have to have him before tuesday. I have another appointment on thursday, which I think will be my last before they schedule my c section, which I have almost resigned to having. :( The only mild bright side to that is my parents fly back in from Hawaii on friday for their anniversary, so my mom can stay the weekend and be here with the kids while I am having him. I would still rather go tonight though. I haven't been having any contractions or anything. A lot of pressure, because he is laying right on my pelvic bone, but I need him to drop behind it. I am getting frustrated at how fine I feel. I was having more contractions when I was like 6 months than I am having now. Grr.

Almost finished

We are almost completely done moving stuff around. We have a couple of small things to take out of Mara's new room and need to get her a box spring. We got a mattress from a friend who had a mattress and the rails, but we didn't realize it had no box spring. So for now she's on the floor on just the mattress, but is still loving it. Asher is just fine in his "new" bed, which was just Mara's old full size. He needs rails for his, but he's happy too. We'll also need to get him some sheets that aren't pink, but at least he's got his superman pillow. I got his dresser moved in there today and vacuumed and moved stuff around and began the process of putting the baby's clothes into his dresser. And our room has all of our furniture, I've got the cradle set up by my side of the bed (I LOVE where it fits right into this corner, totally out of the way. We really have so much more room than we had before.) and almost everything is put away. Tim just has some stuff that needs to get moved out, like some toys and books. Tim spent the day cleaning the disaster of a playroom. And I really mean disaster. I haven't been in there in like a week for fear of falling because there was no where to walk. The kids trashed it and then we just didn't care because we knew we were getting ready to move stuff around and it was a low priority. But now it is almost clean too. Besides getting caught up on laundry and then just some normal light cleaning, I think I am totally just really ready for the baby to just GET HERE.

I have an appointment tomorrow, where I expect to find out that I am at least farther along than last week. But none of that helps and I don't really care unless I go into labor. Either way I know I'll have him by next week or so. I go to bed each night hoping to get woken up by contractions. Instead I keep getting woken up by the kids. So I haven't been getting much sleep, which has just been making me feel crappy. And the baby still keeps jamming his foot into my ribs. Good times.

Still around

Ugh. I don't really care that I haven't had the baby yet, but I just really don't want to have another c section. If I don't have him soon, then I don't have another option. So I am getting very frustrated. Everyone I know is having their babies early, and mine just don't want to come out.

Oh well. I am getting stuff done finally. Tim is out picking up a dresser right now for Asher, since the kids destroyed his and his clothes have been in the baby's dresser. We are in the process of moving our stuff to a bedroom downstairs and Mara into our room. It will be much better to separate Mara and Asher, especially since she starts school in a couple of weeks. Plus, Asher and the baby will share a room once the baby moves out of our room. I got my whole closet moved downstairs yesterday. That room has an actual real sized closet (the closets upstairs are ridiculous) so Tim finally has a place to put his clothes in the same room we sleep in. We should be ready to start moving furniture soon, we just have to get someone to help. Tim seems to think he can move it himself (it's just our dresser and bed) but I think he is underestimating their weight, he thinks I am underestimating his strength. Once it all gets done, it will be a little more organized around here (I clean SO well when I am moving stuff around)and everything I think will mostly have a place. I am also great at getting rid of things, but only when I am moving. The life of an Army brat I guess. That's when I do my purging. I don't know how to go through and organize unless it's in the process of moving. My closet looks great right now though. :)

My best friend Deb had her baby last monday, so I am excited for her. I wish I could have visited with them longer (and held the baby more) but I had my munchkins with me and I think I sufficiently scared both Deb and her husband about their future in parenting. :)

Not much else to say. Some friends of mine threw me a baby shower last weekend, which was really nice and so sweet of them, since I have never had one before. It was fun. I will have to share pictures once I get them sent to me. And just for fun, here is one taken of me last weekend, actually it was after my shower. I look huge.

The week so far

Not much going on..I got to go see an advance screening of Harry Potter on tuesday afternoon. Thanks Deb! That was awesome. It got a bit rough near the end when I started to get tired of sitting, but it was much better than trying to go to a late show. I was just glad that I got to see early. It was awesome, I can't wait for the next two!
Today my mommies group was on Good Things Utah, which was way fun. I got to go be in the audience. It was a little sucky though because the audience just sits on bleachers and by the second commercial break I was fidgeting around and my legs were going numb. I finally had to stand up during one of the breaks, but then the hosts of the show told me my belly was cute and started talking to me. They asked when I was due, and if baby was just done with sitting on those bleachers, and then someone brought three extra little pads for me to sit on Of course I got all red because I hate having attention drawn to myself. It was a lot of fun though, and the ladies were really nice.
I have an appointment tomorrow, so I am looking forward to seeing if I am any further along than last week. I hope so. We have started the process of trying to move things around, so hopefully we get that done before the baby comes.

once a week

I am already down to appointments once a week. On one hand, I am so ready to have this baby. I see people with little babies and can't wait for mine. On the other hand, he can hang on as long as he wants. I have a lot of things to get done before he gets here and not enough time, energy, motivation, or opportunity in which to get it done. We need to move our room downstairs and move Mara into our room. In order to accomplish that, I need to clean out my craft room, which kind of became the "catch all" place, and Tim needs to clean out "his" room, aka the place where he has all of his toys and which will become our room. Asher is such a handful that I can never get much done. He sees me being busy as his opportunity to get into all the trouble he wants. By the time I ever have the opportunity to do things, (like once the kids are in bed) I am way to tired to get it done at that point. I keep waiting for nesting to kick in. I will welcome it. I did clean and rearrange the living room the other day though.

I did have an appointment today. I am offically at the point (with the pushed back due date) where they will not stop me if I go into labor, which is the worst waiting period EVER, knowing it could just happen at any time. My doctor is going to look over my dates and info, since they pushed me back three weeks. We both don't want there to be any issues or problems that arise from going too far past my due date. Since I had a c section last time they won't let me go past really, so we need to make sure we have an accurate-ish guess of when that really is. But I am almost at a 2, which is really nothing, but at least it's something, ha ha. And it should move along faster since it's my third. I just keep waiting and willing for my water to break. I hate the "any day now..."

Splashy fun

I took the kids to a splash pad on monday. It was a lot of fun. Not too mch to say about it, just some pictures to share.

Asher enjoying his fruit kabob. He wouldn't play in the water. He just wanted to sit at the table and eat all the snacks that I brought.

The kids playing. I watch a friend's kids, which would be the extra ones in the pics.

It was a great way to pass the day. The kids had fun and we stayed nice and cool. I wish they had a splash pad closer to us.

Our Fourth

I haven't updated in forever, so I figured it was time. I'll start with our Fourth. South Salt Lake has fireworks and a carnival at Granite High School on the 3rd, so we walked over to that. I love that they have them. One, it's great that they always do them before the fourth, and two, they are so close to us that it's nice to not need to worry about parking or anything because we just walk over. Asher really enjoyed the fireworks. It was fun to see his reaction to them. On the 4th in the afternoon we went to Tim's aunt's house. We had a barbeque and there were cousins for our kids to play with. In the evening we went to Jesse and Anne's house. We had another barbeque. Jesse made delicious shishkabobs. Just a small group of friends. It was nice. When it got darker, Chris had brought some fireworks to play with, that the kids just loved. When those ran out, he and Matt went to get more. Asher just loved that again. We decided to forego the fireworks at Sugarhouse, which was our original plan. We'd already seen some and it was going to be crazy busy because it is the last year they are doing them there, and the kids were going to be too tired. I think that was a good idea to skip them.

The kids got home pretty tuckered out. Asher fell asleep in the very short ride home, as Jesse only lives a few blocks away. I managed to bathe them both (and they were FILTHY) and get them in bed with no fussing or meltdowns, which is saying a lot considering they stayed up way past their bedtimes two nights in a row.

All in all, it was a pretty fun weekend. And not too hot, which was nice.

Updates

Stuff has been going on, but nothing seems very exciting. I thought I would update anyway, since it has been so long since I have posted. Thursday we had the privilege of going to my cousin Scott's wedding. He got married in the Logan temple. They had a space issue, but we were able to go and it was really nice. Scott is one of my favorite cousins and Tim really likes him too. It was fun. His new wife seems really sweet, too. I am incredibly happy for him. He got divorced not too long ago and the whole thing was just kind of a mess, but that's a whole other story that I'm not going into. So I'm just really glad for him, and so grateful that he has found someone to make him so happy.

On friday we were supposed to have a barbeque. We were kind of going to host it, but at our friend's house. We ended up postponing it because there were a couple of people that couldn't make it that Tim really wanted there. So we ended up having my cousin Jacob over for dinner instead. He was going to go to the barbeque so we just made him come hang out instead. It was fun. We had dinner and played Rock Band. Jacob is fun and Tim really enjoys having him around.

I actually can't remember what we did on saturday, so it must not have been important. I think we probably just hung around the house. Same with Sunday. Monday we went out to breakfast with Tim's mom, and then relaxed the rest of the day because I wasn't feeling very well. Then Tim's brother came over for a yummy dinner or ribs, corn on the cob, cheddar and bacon potatoes, and pasta salad, with chocolate pudding for dessert.

Everything else is well. I feel like this baby should be due way earlier. I feel like I'm at the end, not two months away. I can't imagine things getting much more miserable. I get faint daily, can't walk for long periods of time, and the nausea seems to have come back. Joy. But oh well, it is all worth it. I have an appointment on friday, and am down to 2 weekers after that. The finish line, yay!!

Cinco de Mayo

We had an awesome playdate at our friend Lori's house for Cinco de Mayo, through the mommies group I am a part of. The kids had such a blast. I did as well. I love when Lori has playdates because the kids can't escape, lol. She has a nice fenced backyard with lots to do. She usually has a jug of kool aid for the kids to drink, and Asher remembered this from the last time we were there and went right for it. He pretty much camped out there for a large chunk of the afternoon. I think a small part was that he liked the juice, but he really enjoyed that he could just get it himself. You could see his red mouth from across the yard. We had tacos for lunch, the kids played, and then we had cupcakes and got to break open a pinata. It was so much fun.

This is Asher and some of the kids eating their lunch.

Some pictures of the kids playing.

Starr, Mara, and Asher enjoying their cupcakes. Starr is a girl I watch during the day.

Asher really enjoying his cupcake.

Asher's fruit punch and cupcake inspired face.

The kids hitting the pinata.

I love these two because you can see in the background just how much Asher is loving the pinata.

Asher loves to help, and after he watched the pinata for a bit he was quick to run over and help Lori pull the rope to raise the pinata.

The kids grabbing the candy.

Lots of pictures. It was a great day.

Mara's Birthday

Mara's birthday was on thursday. She is 5 already, I can't believe it. On friday she got to go and pick out a birthday present with her money from her great grandpa, which she was just so excited to do. She picked a Littlest Pet Shop Clubhouse.
We decided to have a kind of impromptu party for her on saturday. We had a nice little indoor barbeque with just some of Tim's friends. Of course once it started I thought of all these other people I should or could have invited, but it was just a small little thing to make her feel special without really having a huge blowout. Just some hamburgers, hot dogs, fruit salad, cake and ice cream. She had a great time. Tim's friends all brought her presents, even though he didn't call them until the night before. (He is so last minute on everything, drives me nuts) And they totally didn't have to but of course she was thrilled. Jesse and Ann had their new baby Sagan with them, who was just born in March. Mara doted on him and even Asher was enthralled. And Sagan just stared and stared at me when I held him. He's a cutie. Tim accused me of being baby hungry..7 months pregnant dude, the jig is up. Then we all played Rock Band for a bit, and I sent Mara on a treasure hunt to find the present I had for her. She really enjoyed that. I just had ten little clues that led to her present, which was just 5 bracelets that I made for her. She has been getting a little into wanting to wear jewelry, so she was excited. She wore all 5 of them together for the rest of the day. That was pretty much the day. I bathed the kids and they went to bed. Mara said it was the "bestest, most funnest birthday" she's ever had. She's pretty easy to please sometimes. :)

Wearing out the kids

We had fun today, and I sure made them tired. We went to Sugarhouse Park to play today. We were supposed to be meeting another mommy there at 10:30, but of course we were late, so it was closer to a little before 11. Mara was having so much fun with her new friend Jack, and I was enjoying chatting with his mom, so we ended up not leaving until 3. We had packed a lunch and everything, I just felt horrible that I forgot the sunscreen. Mara wore her jacket all day and was in the shade a lot, so she is good. But Asher has red cheeks and arms, and my face is a bit crispy. I just feel guilty. Bad mom. I guess it isn't too bad though.
After the park we went to pick up a prescription for me, then went home and had an early dinner of hot dogs and yummy cheeseburgers. After that we went out to Baskin Robbins for ice cream because it was 31 cent scoop night. Then it was home, bath, and bed. I love filling up the whole day, especially when Tim will be home late. It was a good day though. At least I got the kids nice and tired. They zonked out nicely tonight. :)

Yay for me!

There is this window in the dining room that is painted shut that I have always wanted to get open. The big bay window in the dining room is unopenable, like, it don't even have hinges, they are just panes of glass. So I have always wanted to get this other window open because it can get kind of hot in the front of the house. And I finally got it open today, woo hoo! So exciting, but it was to me. I just need to get a screen for it. Small victory. :)
Anyway, I also registered Mara for school today, which was crazy. I felt so old when I was filling out the paperwork. I can't believe she is going to start school. Her school is year round, which I'm not sure how I feel about, but oh well. And they offer full day, which we originally didn't want to do, but otherwise she only goes for 3 hours, and that seems like kind of a waste. She gets out at noon on fridays as it is, so I put full day from 8-2:45 as my first choice. We go back in July for placement testing. The school seems nice though. It is brand new, and the ladies in the office were really friendly. School starts on July 30th, which kind of sucks because that is going to be RIGHT around the time I have the baby, so it'll be one big transition on top of another. I am excited though. I think she will enjoy it. I will definitely miss having her here to help with Asher, especially with the new baby coming, but oh well. Maybe the baby will help calm him down some. Ha ha.

Lazy Sunday

Yesterday was a nice day. We woke up a little late (I miss church at 11 :( )so Tim went without us. I have been sick and Mara got it and since Asher was still sleeping we thought he may have been coming down with it and didn't want to wake him up, so I stayed home with the kids while Tim went and taught our class. When he came home, we decided to watch a movie as a family so I cut up some strawberries, popped some popcorn and we layed out a blanket in the family room and watched Wall E. When that was over we decided to watch the Lion King. It was nice because it was mainly an excuse for Tim and I to get some rest. Then we wasted away the rest of the gloomy day playing Mario Galaxies. Then we had yummy pot roast, mashed potatoes, carrots, and homemade rolls for dinner. It was a nice relaxing day though. Now today I have a lot of cleaning and laundry to do, and I have to go register Mara for school. Apparently they did kindergarden registration on the 17th, but I had no idea. I was going to wait until the summer. Oops!

Friends and fun

Friday I took the kids to Jumping Jacks, which is an indoor bounce house place. It was their grand re-opening so it was a free day and they had free hot dogs and balloons. Mara had a blast, and was really good whenever I called her, so I was very happy about that. Asher, who doesn't like to bounce, was a little stinker and kept running around while I was trying to keep an eye on Mara. I kept trying to hold him to keep him by me but he kept kicking and kneeing me in the stomach, which really hurts when you're pregnant, so I finally gave up and we just went outside for a hot dog.
Friday night we went over to our friend's house that used to be in our ward. They have a daughter just 2 weeks older than Mara, and they were the best of friends. It was a lot of fun. We made pizza and visited, the kids played, and we all played Rock Band. I must have worn the kids out good during the day because by the time we got home Mara was asking to go to bed. We said she needed to brush her teeth and she said if she did it would make her want to go to bed even more. She just wanted to go straight in there. Which was funny because it was only an hour past their normal bedtime, and they are usually still awake by then playing in their beds anyway. But within three minutes they were both just conked right out. So that was good, it's nice to wear them out once in a while.

Pretty little princess

I had to post this picture. A couple weeks ago the kids were supposed to be going to sleep and I went in to check on them. As soon as I opened the door Asher started climbing back into his bed, and Mara asked for a drink. In the 30 seconds it took me to go and get her a drink and come back, Asher had fallen asleep. Apparently before I came in they were playing in the closet, and Asher looked like this:

Unfortunately, I didn't think to get a picture before, because if you can't tell, it is a Tinkerbell costume, and he had the wings on and everything with his little butt up in the air. But I took them off before I thought to take a picture. And since this night, there have been other times we have gone in his room and he was wearing it again. I think Mara keeps putting it on him, but last time we tried to take it off he put up a big fuss, so he slept in it.

Baby updates

I Just realized that I haven't updated any baby news. We had our second ultrasound and they said everything looked normal, but that they can't rule out Downs with an ultrasound alone. The second blood draw came back normal, but is still pretty much not going to be completely ruled out until the baby comes. I'm not too worried about it though, I think everything will be fine. They kept my due date the same based on the baby's measurements, but my uterus is measuring a little bigger, and I've only gained a pound and a half since my last appointment. I really think baby might just be a little small. That's all the news I have on him for now. Oh, yeah...It's another boy!! I don't remember if I said that in another post or not yet. I was so sure it was a girl, so I was very suprised to find out boy. Mara is excited, she said whatever we had was what she wanted. She is just excited for another baby. I think Asher will be a different story though. He enjoys having all of our attention. I'm sure he'll adjust ok though.

The bump

Nothing exciting. Just thought I would post this picture I just took.

Updates

It has been forever since I have posted, but there is nothing going on. We went to Idaho for the weekend, which was fun. My dad was home from Colorado so we picked him up from the airport on thursday. The original plan was that we were going to take him up to Idaho on friday afternoon so the whole family could spend some time together, but I had an appointment in the afternoon and Tim had to work, and my dad forgot that he had to be there by early afternoon to speak somewhere. So he took the shuttle up on friday morning. I had my doctor's appointment that afternoon. All looks well and I have gained a whopping pound and a half since my last appointment, and I actually don't think I have even gotten back up to what I was at the beginning of the pregnancy, thanks to all my morning sickness.
We headed up to Idaho friday evening, getting a much later start than we should have because of trying to run some errands and things, but the drive was uneventful. Saturday we just spent mostly playing Mario Galaxies with my brother and sister. Asher really took to his uncle Brett, and as always just loved being with and helping out Grandma and Grandpa. The Easter Bunny came Sunday morning and the kids hunted eggs in Grandma's backyard. They had a lot of fun. Then we came home Sunday afternoon, because my dad had to fly back to Colorado. He rode back with us so we could take him to the airport. Or rather, we rode, since I had him drive because I was so tired and I would rather not have Tim drive my van. :)
That is really it. The kids and I went to the park today and soon I will give them a bath and straighten up the playroom, since they got cereal all over it AGAIN. Tim has class monday nights, so not much fun for me. I end up counting down the hours to bedtime, trying to find things to fill the space faster. Almost there...

Tim and I just could not stop laughing

I will try to explain this well, but I'm sure it won't be as funny to anyone else because it's not your kid and you weren't here to see her expression. Mara came in to our room with a tiny grape and said it was her baby grape. She said she wanted to keep it forever. I told her that it was a grape and it would rot eventually. She started to get a little upset and my husband asked what was wrong. I told her that she could keep it for a little while but then we would have to get rid of it, told her that a raisin was a grape, blah blah...trying to explain the concept to her.

I turn to my husband to explain what she is upset about and she starts to cry. We ask her why she is crying, I already told her she could hang onto it for a while. She looks up with tears streaming down her face and says, "I ate it."

We both cracked up laughing. After I told her it would rot, she ate it, but then I told her that she could hang onto it for a while so it upset her because she had already eaten it.

Like I said, doesn't sound that funny but in the moment and with her expressions, we just could not stop laughing.

What a frustrating week. My doctor's office called on wednesday and said that my AFP test came back positive for Down Syndrome. That doesn't necessarily mean that the baby has it though. My ultrasound was the next day, so there were some extra tests and things for them to look for. When they started measuring, they said that my dates were off, which would have affected the test results. They pushed my dates back, which is highly frustrating, because now things just don't add up. It would put me as getting pregnant at a time when I just know I did not get pregnant. I'm sure of my dates and it just frustrates me when they say that they aren't right. Can't the baby just be small?? Plus, the little stinker had its legs tightly closed so we couldn't tell what it was. So I have to go back for another AFP blood draw next week, and another ultrasound next month. I'm not too anxious about the wait, because there's really nothing I can do about the results either way. It's still my baby. I was more anxious about finding out what it was, and now I'm just frustrated to be pushed back. And I feel that my results are going to be wrong again because the test has to be taken at a certain tmie period, which I don't think it will be. It'll be interesting to see if the sizes at the next ultrasound measure up to what they are saying I am.

Today was fun though. Our friend is having a baby in march and she had a baby shower today. I have actually never been to a baby shower before, well besides a charity one our mommies group had, and having never had one myself. And then tonight our ward is having a family dance that may be fun, we'll see. I haven't been in a very "fun" mood lately. But I'm sure the kids will enjoy it.

The weekend

My sister Melissa came down this weekend. We had fun. She got here on Saturday. Tim had to work so we didn't really have any plans. It was a quiet weekend. Monday her and I went to go shopping. She wanted to go to Kohl's since they don't have one in Pocatello. At lunch I decided on the spur of the moment to cut my hair. It was pretty long and I don't even do much with it. A lot of it is gone, but the lady messed it up. One half of my head is layered with bangs, the other half is all one length with no bangs. I was not impressed. She cut it in less than half an hour and didn't once stop to ask how I liked the length ot anything. I actually wanted it a bit shorter, and the style is nowhere near the picture I showed her. So I am going back today to get it fixed.

Anyway, Melissa offered to watch the kids so Tim and I could go out for a late Valentine's date. We had reservations at the Melting Pot with our friends Jesse and Ann. It was a lot of fun, and sooo yummy.

Ultrasound is on thursday! Woo hoo, I wonder if I'm right...

Double yay for drugs!!

I forgot how well Zofran worked. And I think it's working better this time around. I took one this morning and I am feeling so much better. I told Mara that I was feeling good today and she was just so excited. We even got to get up and go get bagels this morning because one, I was feeling good, and two, we had the van. So it'a been a good day. :)

Yay for appointments

So I had an appointment today. I am 17 weeks, and my morning sickness has seemed to increase. Apparently I am the worst pregnant person ever. It's just not fair. I have at one point tried everything they have that may help me, and none of it really does anything. Some of it makes me more sick. Although I did get a prescription for Zofran, which I haven't had since I was pregnant with Mara, and I remember it helped a lot then. I think it's usually a last resort. When we got it with Mara, they told us it was something like $500 for a 30 day prescription, but with our insurance it was a $20 co pay. So since I've lost like 10 pounds and am having a hard time with pretty much eveerything, I get it again. I can't wait to take it in the morning. I hope it helps. It's usually given to patients going through chemo to help with nausea. I had a friend who got cancer around the time I had Mara, and she was given it but she said it didn't do much for her. So apparently it's not a huge help to cancer patients but it's sure a big help if you're pregnant. If it doesn't make me feel better, my doctor said we can talk about IV hydration. She said that it makes a lot of people feel tons better, but I still hope it doesn't get to that. It's just not fair. All the people I've known lately that are pregnant didn't get sick. I guess I'm just lucky. But on the bright side, I have one week until my ultrasound, yay!

I also got my van back today, woo hoo! I was extra excited because we were actually able to get the tags renewed right there at the shop, so I didn't have to spend the rest of my day at the DMV. It will be so nice to be able to go out and do stuff again during the day, once I don't feel so crappy. We are also looking into the possibility of buying a house. It sucks because our rent is a house payment, but it's the actual qualifying and down payment and crap that may stop us. We'll see though. I just want a yard that the kids can play in, and with Peanut on the way we could really use more room. And I hate my kitchen. But we decided as much as we want out of here, if we can't get a house then we will just stay. We'll have to move a lot of stuff around but it's better than the hassle of moving. That's what I keep telling myself anyway...

Not much to update

I've been thinking about needing to post, but there really isn't much to update. The kids and I are getting a little tired of being cooped up in the house, but hopefully we will be getting the van fixed (FINALLY!) in the next couple of weeks. I am almost at 16 weeks, so the nausea and exhaustion is starting to fade a bit the closer I get to my fourth month. Just a couple days until I'm officially in my second trimester. We are already almost two weeks from finding out the sex, but I'm already thinking that I know it's a girl. We'll see how good my intuition still is. I was right with the other two, and I think Deb is having a boy and this is a girl. It will be interesting to find out for sure.
Asher is a ridiculously active little guy. I cannot believe all the crap he manages to get into. Another reason I can't wait to be able to leave the house again. I WANT MY VAN! Lol. Luckily, Mara is such a good helper. She's good at either stopping him or coming to tell me what he's doing, usually. Sometimes she joins in the mischief-making. So thanks to my being so tired and his constant energy and mess making, the house is a complete disaster, but I honestly just don't care anymore. Whatever I manage to get cleaned with the little energy I have is completely destroyed almost immediately, so I've pretty much just given up. We are hoping to move when our lease is up in May, so I'm kind of holding off until it's just time to pack. Or until the "nesting" kicks in. I'm just ready to get out of this place, thank you army upbringing. We are going to try to get our own house. Hopes aren't too high, but we will see.

It's a baby!

I had my 12 week appointment today, even though I am 13 weeks. It was very cool. The Women's Center is in the same building as the hospital. Normally, I would go downstairs for my ultrasound at 18 weeks. The Center has a contract with the hospital that they send their patients down for ultrasounds, so they previously were not allowed their own ultrasound machine. I guess some other place in the building got a machine, so the Women's Center said that they should be able to have one too, for sneak peeks. So they now have their own ultrasound machine and we got to see and hear the heartbeat, instead of just listen to it. It was so neat. Normally the baby looks pretty big at the ultrasounds. Today the little thing was not much bigger than a peanut, but we could clearly see the arms and legs and see him/her kicking and waving and swimming. It was so cool. Tim and I felt it was much more special than any of our other ultrasounds, just because it is still so early. It's just amazing how it's a baby with appendages, but it is just so small. Mara came with us. She was so good and just so excited. She jhad and just kept saying, "Aww, it's so cute!" The doctor even gave her her very own picture.
Also, I am excited that the office actually encourages you to try a VBAC. (Vaginal birth after caesarean. Sorry if that's too much info) I think my doctor enjoys how flexible and easygoing I am. She asked what my birth plan was and I told her I would like to try for a vbac. If it doesn't happen, oh well, and we know a little bit more about my babies and how they like to get tangled up, so if there is no progression I'm okay with just going ahead with the c section instead of waiting to see what happens. That almost ended badly the last time. She seemed pretty excited and happy about my answer and said I had a great attitude about it and we were on the same page. The only thing is, they won't induce with a vbac. I had to be induced with both of my kids a week AFTER I was due, first for toxemia and then for low fluid. My babies don't like to come out on their own. If I don't go into labor on my own by 39 weeks, they will schedule the section. I don't have high hopes of going into labor on my own, but we will see.
